Senior Director of Government Affairs
Gus joined 1816 Public Affairs Group in 2025 as Senior Director of Government Affairs. Prior to joining 1816, Gus spent 13 years in public service under Indiana Governors Daniels, Pence, and Holcomb. As the Legislative and Policy Director for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, he played a key role in major legislative initiatives in the areas of healthcare, human services, mental health and addiction, aging services, and child care.
Today Gus serves a wide variety of clients across many industries in their local and state governmental affairs. He believes that most meaningful change comes from genuine relationships, honesty, trust, and persistence behind the scenes, and he strives to keep those values at the forefront of his work. Gus brings a measured approach that always starts with listening and understanding.
